Moon cake for families
Moon cake is a traditional pastry for Moon Festival (Mid-Autumn Festival).
On August 15 of the lunar calendar, families will gather together, have a big meal, and
watch the roundest moon of the year and eat moon cakes.
As the Chinese character “round(圓)” also means reunion, we make this cake round for this special day, and put some lucky meaning characters on them to wish all family members health and safety.
I used the shape of moon cake to design a multi-functional plate.
Specially designed for a 4 member family to use (most of the Chinese family has 4 members)
It can be used as decoration, as 4 pastry plates, 4 coasters, or as an insulation pad.
